A program for a Mass of Christian Burial
The Catholic order of service is set by the liturgy. Choose it as the starting point and add the readings, the psalm response and the people taking part.
The order of the Mass
The greeting and sprinkling with holy water at the door, the entrance procession, opening prayer, the readings and responsorial psalm, the Gospel and homily, prayers of the faithful, the Liturgy of the Eucharist, Communion, words of remembrance, the final commendation and recessional. The parish will confirm the details.
Readings and hymns
Each line can name the reading ("Wisdom 3:1-9"), the reader, and the hymn. Many parishes prefer that the words of remembrance stay brief; the obituary inside the program carries the fuller story.
The cover
The Gold Traditional and Classic Serif designs suit a Mass; the cover heading can read "In Loving Memory of" or "Mass of Christian Burial for".
